Meadows Urquhart was founded in 2004 by four CPAs: Kelli Meadows, Doug Urquhart, David Acree and Shannon Cook. The four partners knew from the beginning that a supportive culture would be the foundation for the firm’s success.
We operate under three core values:
Family: Our firm recognizes that having a supportive work family is important to having a successful career. One of the ways we treat each other as a family is celebrating personal and professional milestones.
Team: Our employees- now numbering 20- never work in isolation. Partners, directors and staff all collaborate on projects and encourage each other to grapple with new challenges. We thank our team with fun rewards such as going to Isley Brewery to celebrate the end of busy season, and going on a RavenChase Adventure for Team Day.
In Your Shoes: We’re more than just numbers people- we’re the people who know what it’s like to be in your shoes. We spend time to get to know your business and understand your challenges, because we care about your company’s growth and development. Meadows Urquhart’s clients are part of the family too.
Giving back to the community- both in Richmond and elsewhere- is an essential part of Meadows Urquhart’s culture. Not only do we count many local nonprofits among our clients, but our partners serve on several boards. Every year, employees dedicate a full day to a community service project. We’ve helped clean up Vauxhall Island in the James River, painted rooms at The Doorways and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity.
We also participate in annual fundraisers for organizations including the Pediatric Connection, the Children’s Hospital Foundation and Comfort Zone Camp.
